The Nigerian Senate has confirmed former Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This did not come easy as the PDP senators opposed his confirmation. The PDP senators wanted the report by the ethics committee on Ameachi to be adopted but the APC senators shut that down.
The PDP senators after a fierce argument with their APC colleagues, staged a walk out to prevent Amaechi's confirmation.
This had no effect as the Senate went ahead to confirm Amaechi as a minister.
Many see this as a win for Saraki, showing his party loyalty but this also means he might lose the support of the PDP senators.
