A justice of the Federal High Court, Abuja, Adeniyi Ademola, on Thursday, ruled that the Department of States Services (DSS) continued detention of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, is unlawful.
The court therefore ordered for his immediate release.
Nnamd Kanu has been incarcerated for over 90 days even though he got a court order for his bail in October.
The DSS however, obtained a federal high court order to continue keeping him behind bars.
Kanu is being held by the DSS on charges bordering on terrorism, and take over.
