SHOCKING: DSS Arrests Former Benue Governor After Discovering Exotic Cars & Ammunition

Officials of the State Security Service SSS, says it has recovered a cache of guns and magazines in a property allegedly belonging to former Benue State governor, Gabriel Suswam, after conducting a search on the property on February 24th.
 In a statement signed by one Tony Opuiyo and released yesterday, the SSS said the property that was searched is located at the Maitama area of Abuja. The building which is being used by a firm named Dunes Investment and Global Properties Ltd, was traced to the former governor.

SHOCKING: Radio Bayelsa General Manager Flogs Staff


The industrial dispute at Radio Bayelsa, christened Glory FM, took a twist on Thursday as the General Manager flogged four staffers on duty.
The Radio Bayelsa Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, and Radio Television and Theatre Arts Workers Unions, RATTAWU, consequently shut the radio station. Some reports had said the staffers were whipped by suspected thugs.
Tonye Yemoleigha, NUJ Chairman in Radio Bayelsa told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Thursday in Yenagoa that he and three female staff were caned by the General Manager of the Station, Mr John Idumange.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, who met with President Buhari in London yesterday, say there is no cause for alarm over the president’s health. In a statement released on his Facebook page, Saraki said the president he met yesterday was healthy, witty and himself. Read the statement below:

White House Shares Discussion Trump Had With Buhari [LIB]


The white house has shared the readout of President Donald Trump’s call with President Buhari last week. The readout which was shared on the white house website reads;
"President Donald J. Trump spoke this week with President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria to discuss the strong cooperation between the United States and Nigeria, including on shared security, economic, and governance priorities.

Nigerian Army Arrests Soldiers Who Brutalized Cripple; Apologize To Nigerians

The Nigerian Army has said that it has arrested the soldiers that brutalised a physically challenged man in Onitsha.
A statement by Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, Director, Army Public Relations, said that the two soldiers have been charge for assault by their Commanding Officer.
In a video that surfaced online yesterday, the two soldiers were seen dragging and hitting the physically challenged man with sticks after throwing away his wheelchair.

BREAKING: Acting President Osinbajo sends Onnoghen's Name to Senate for Confirmation as Chief Justice of Nigeria




With just two days left to the expiration of the tenure of the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, acting President Yemi Osinbajo tuesday transmitted his name to the Senate for confirmation as the substantive CJN.
Confirming this tuesday, a source close to the Office of the Senate President, said Senate President Bukola Saraki received the letter yesterday, requesting the upper chamber to screen and confirm Justice Onnoghen, a Cross River State indigene, as the substantive CJN.
Also, a ranking senator speaking on the condition of anonymity, said he was aware that the acting president had transmitted Justice Onnoghen’s name to the Senate for confirmation.

Court Seizes Ozekhome's N75 million paid by Fayose on EFCC request



Federal High Court judge sitting in Lagos has frozen the bank account of a prominent Lagos-based human rights lawyer Mike Ozekhome SAN. The court  Nigeria today ordered temporary forfeiture of the sum of N75 million discovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in his account domiciled with Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB).
The presiding Judge Abdulaziz Anka gave the order while delivering a ruling in a motion filed by the anti-graft agency seeking that Ozekhome's account be temporarily frozen on the ground that the sum of N75 million deposited in his account on December 15, 2016, was suspected to be a proceed of crime.

Nigerian Police display N111 million cash bribe by Wike to INEC Officials [Sahara Reporters]



The Nigeria Police Force today displayed a cash haul of N111 million it said was recovered from officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who were arrested for allegedly receiving bribes to rig the December 10, 2016 Rivers State re-run election in the legislature.
The Police Investigative Panel led by a Commissioner of Police detailed how Governor Nyesom Wike gave a sum of N360 million as bribes to about 23 of the electoral officials, three of whom collected their share from the governor personally at the State Government House.

BREAKING: Nigerian University Announces Cure For HIV/AIDS!

Health Minister On The Cure For HIV/AIDS
NAN, Abuja; Prof. Francis Otunta, the Vice Chancellor (VC), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, in Abia, has confirmed the discovery of a new drug for the treatment and cure of HIV/AIDS.
Otunta told newsmen at the university campus on Wednesday that the finding followed years of scientific research by the institution.
He said that the breakthrough was made by Prof. Maduike Ezeibe, a researcher in the university.
